‘I don’t know what to post. ☹’
‘There’s nothing that would interest people.’
‘I don’t post because I don’t know where to find the topics to write about.’
‘I don’t post because I don’t have time to create content. ‘
These are the statements I hear every day. I teach people about LinkedIn and how to create content for the platform, but it applies to every platform.
We all have a lot of content created; we lack ideas on how to use it. I have recently written an article where I’ve talked about the ideas for the B2B sector, but some apply to solopreneurs, business professionals, coaches… https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-use-content-linkedin-barbara-imen%C5%A1ek/
The purpose of the content is to get people to know you; with the mix of exciting and engaging content, they start to like you, and because you establish authority with great success story examples, they begin to trust you. And trust is the key to getting new business.
STORYTELLING is always the best option. People like stories, and we like it if we can relate to them. The more you can get your reader to relate to your story, the more likely they will engage with it and get in contact with you. When focusing on your story, make sure it follows some of the principles; It’s inspirational, overcomes a challenge, showcases an accomplishment, you’re presenting your vision… If you can add a visual to tell your story, you’re the winner.
Some storytelling ideas:
- XY tools you use in your business and how they help you and your clients
- How to achieve a common goal your audience has
- The challenges your ideal clients have to overcome backed up with the success story
- How your brand/company/ product came to light
- Your client is your hero. Unfortunately, many people make a mistake when focusing on themselves when addressing their prospects (I help you, I will make sure). Still, the best results are when your ideal client is the hero of your story (changing the narrative to YOU – you will achieve this, you will increase clients/ productivity /revenue…)
- Debunk a common myth in your business
- XY things I did differently (from my competition) to get to
- You share a story of how your services/ products help your clients survive and thrive
- Sharing a personal story
EDUCATIONAL content is the best way to give. It means you give your readers the content they can implement into their business immediately:

ASKING the right QUESTIONS can be highly engaging posts. Usually, we ask a question at the end of the post to drive engagement. Here are some ideas where you can ask questions to drive the conversation.
- What are the challenges your ideal clients struggle with?
- Ask your connections about their expertise
- Do a live with Q& A coaching
- Ask about the wins
- What does success mean to them
- What is the #1 skill they would like to learn
- Ask about their products /services
- Ask how you can help them
- Ask me anything

BEHIND THE SCENES are also high engagement posts. People are curious beings, so we like to see everything behind what we communicate /let people see.
- Share your typical day
- Do you have people you work with – introduce them or let them introduce themselves
- Share your most significant fear around a topic relevant to your ideal client
- Share some fun facts about you
- Showcase your personality
- Funny content – mishaps
- Celebrate a success, a colleague
- A glimpse into your creative process
- Team building content
- Share your week’s schedule (if it is interesting)
- Share your failures; if you were recording a video, make a short take with the mistakes, so people see you are human and make mistakes😉
INDUSTRY AND OTHER TRENDS
- New strategies
- Case studies
- Trends you see or are presented by other players
- Hacks most people don’t know about
INSPIRATIONAL CONTENT can be sharing inspirational stories, your or your client’s successes, or just sharing an inspirational quote.
- Write a story about someone that inspires you.
- Share a story about how you or your client overcame fear and succeeded
- Write your opinion about a book you read and what was the take of it
- Do you have a morning/ evening routine or gratitude process? How you started, why are you doing it, how it helps you?
- Ask people to recommend a book, YT channel, a podcast on a specific topic
MARKET RESEARCH RELATED QUESTIONS are a great way to understand your target client better. Take this opportunity and make the questions part of your content strategy. It will help you get closer to your clients, and with all the answers you can ask, you will never be out of content.
- What is the hardest thing about ____?
- What is your biggest struggle around ___?
- How did you try to solve ___ in the past?
- Have you used our products /services in the past?
- What do you wish the product/service had that it currently does not?
- Why would you choose us over the competition? | Why would you choose our competitors over us?
- Which keywords come to your mind when you think of our product/service?
- How frequently do you need the product/service we offer?
- What are we good at? What is our competition good at?
SHOWCASE YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICE Believe it or not, but many individuals create content around their product/service and give immense value, but in the end, they forget to promote the product/service itself. So if you are using your profile for product/service promotion, make sure you are not overdoing it.
- Tell your ideal clients what you can help them with
- What pain points will disappear when they start using your product/service
- Explain how your product/service works
- Most common mistakes people make when using your product/services – why are the results not as good as they should be?
- If I showed you how to sign/get new clients daily, would you be interested?
OTHER CONTENT IDEAS
- Interview a person (a client, an industry leader, a person you admire, an influencer)
- Share a preview of what you are working on (you can also make a teaser and make a step by step reveal and tease over several posts)
- Share your opinion on something people will likely disagree
- Make a countdown post to launch your product/service
- Curated content (sharing other people’s and pages content)
Now you have 77 ideas, so there are no more excuses for lack of content.
And another tip – you can repurpose each of the ideas in different ways:
- if you are filming a video, you can post it as a video;
- you can make transcription from the video and write a LinkedIn article;
- you can make it in the pdf and use it as a freebie or upload it on LinkedIn;
- you can take the bits and quotes out of the video and make picture quote cards;
- if you have a webpage or host a podcast, you can publish the sound from the video as a podcast.
As you see, there are many ways how much content you can create from a single piece. And it would be best if you used them all. But more about the repurposing in the following article.
