LinkedIn is speeding up. If the platform was a sleeping beauty for almost 2 decades, they sure upped their game lately.
They’ve been introducing many changes to make it a more user-friendly platform and cater to their users’ needs. I like that.
So, let’s see some of the changes.
You’ve probably heard about CREATOR MODE options. I’ve mentioned it before, but since I get many questions about it, should you turn it on or not, I am talking about it once more. It is available for profiles, and you turn it on on mobile.
What happens when you turn on the creator mode?
- ‘Connect’ to ‘ Follow’. The connect button on your profile becomes a Follow button. If a person wants to connect with you, they must find the connect button in the … section.
- Did you notice the ‘talks about #’ on some profiles? You can also have them once you enable the creator mode. You can choose up to 5 # to add to your profile below your about section.

- You have the option to do live videos. Without or previously to creator mode was introduced, you had to apply for, and there was a fair chance you would get rejected. So if you are creating a lot of video content, Creator mode is for you.
- Newsletter – you can start sending out the newsletter. You invite people to subscribe, and when you send it out, your subscribers get a notification plus an email. You double the chances to get your content noticed😉 But, what’s been happening is that people started creating it and not following up. Many sent out a few or only one and then stopped. It’s a commitment to do it.
SERVICES PAGE was introduced for solopreneurs and service providers.
It’s a kind of subpage to showcase your services, get recommendations for your services, and allows you to send it to potential clients with a message or as a post. You can add up to 8 services to it and 8 images.
The purpose of the service page is to help service providers market their business.
Once you set it up, a new section will appear to bellow your headline with your services. Once a person clicks see more, your full-service page with potential recommendations will appear.

ALERT!! The bells started ringing on LinkedIn. You probably noticed the bell on right side of the profile. Now, I don’t have to bookmark people’s activity feed whose content I want to follow, as bell alerts you whenever they post. Meaning it’s become easier to know when people you follow post something.

NAME PRONUNCIATION and PROFILE VIDEO are 2 features that are not new but still not used enough:
You can only add both features to your profile from the LinkedIn mobile app, and you have to be using the latest version of the app.
They are a great way to stand out from the crowd and showcase your brand. Both are limited to 30 seconds. The first helps people get our names right. We don’t realize how stressful it can be for a person when conversing with someone and not knowing how to get their name right. And yes, we have some strange characters in our names the other alphabets don’t know.
And the video adds to the credibility of your profile and enhances your personal brand. It displays as a short 3 s video (if the viewer didn’t disable autoplay), and when tapping on it, there is the 30 s video.
A few weeks ago, LinkedIn introduced the option of Newsletters for business pages. If you have a business page and regularly send out a ‘classic’ newsletter, I suggest you take advantage of this option.
The process is easy – you click on write an article, and this mask appears. You click ‘Create a newsletter’ choose the frequency. Once you’ve created a newsletter, you will have to switch between a newsletter and a single article. Be careful you don’t send out articles as newsletters 😉
If you’ve written at least one article before, this is like riding a bike. Plus, you have a little helper in the right corner to guide you in writing and adding media.
